The Story behind Abraham Mignon - Flowers in a Metal Vase
Throughout his short career Mignon painted various still-life subjects, but he is best known for his lush compositions of flowers and fruits. He developed a style of precise detail of painting and drawing, as you can see in this painting with various well-detailed flowers and insects. Mignon's compositions got enormous following and many collectors wanted them eagerly in the seventeeth and eighteenth century, including Louis XIV of France.
